Nusa Caña Godfather Dark Rum 0.7L 49.7%

Nusa Caña's mission is to revive the forgotten story of Indonesian rum. The name "Godfather" is derived from the nickname of Batavia Arrack as the "godfather of the rum world" - an ancient style of rum that predates its Caribbean cousins and is considered "the world's first international luxury spirit".

With a slightly honeyed, amber appearance from the teak wood and a pungent aroma from the arak, Godfather has elegant balance and a long, spicy finish.

A blend of 100% Batavia Arrack aged in boilers for 24 months, it has a bold flavour with subtle notes of tropical fruit, sugarcane, molasses funk and sweet spice.

Batavia Arrack rum is made by slowly fermenting Javanese sugarcane molasses (from the saccharum robustum cane) and crushed red rice with local water.

The resulting liquid is double distilled in antique steel pot stills and matured in large teak barrels in the tropical growing regions of West and Central Java, Indonesia, before being transported to Europe for blending and bottling after 350 years of tradition.
