Charanda is a Mexican spirit with a protected designation of origin ("Denominación de Origen" - DO), produced in the state of Michoacán in central western Mexico.
The Pacheco family has been making premium charanda at Casa Tarasco in Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico for over 111 years.
Branded "Uruapan", this charanda pays homage to the town of the same name, with which the Pacheco family's long and rich history is connected.
Uruapan Blanco is a blended rum, consisting of 50% sugar cane juice, distilled in a copper column, and 50% molasses, distilled in a French column. The variety of sugar cane used is called "Saccharum officinarum" and it is grown at an altitude of 1,270 meters above sea level in volcanic soils, also known as "charanda" among the indigenous Purépeches.
TASTING NOTES COLOR: Clear and transparent.
AROMA: Sugar cane juice, slightly sweet and salty aromas.
TASTE: Sweet and salty notes. Lime, basil, honey, white tea. Traces of ripe and candied lemon.
FINISH: Bursting with deliciousness.
