La Okinawa Shikuwasa
This liqueur, inspired by the southernmost subtropical region of Okinawa, is highly regarded in the bartending community in Japan. It is made from Shikuwasa (Okinawan citrus) juice, which is mixed with syrup and neutral white spirit.
Shikuwasa has been consumed by local residents for many years.
Due to its health benefits and importance in Okinawan culinary culture, it is widely known that this fruit plays a major role in the legendary longevity of the island's inhabitants.
It is very popular in Asia for its taste, which is very different from other types of lemons. Shikuwasa can be found everywhere on the island, even in the gardens of village houses, but Shikuwasa juice is difficult to find outside of Okinawa.
You can enjoy it with an ice cube, tonic water or as the base of a cocktail.
