The highlands of Việt Nam are famous for their red basalt forest soils.

This fertile soil, rich in iron from long-dormant volcanoes, is a breeding ground for a wide variety of plant species.

Inspired by traditional Vietnamese fruit liqueurs, the ruby colored Spiced Roselle is reminiscent of the red soil and textiles used by forest dwellers in the central highlands.

Sông Cái is carefully distilled in small batches in copper stills with direct fire, bringing captivating flavors to life.

Appearance: Ruby.

Nose: Complex and spicy notes such as cinnamon, prune and cherry, anise and hints of pepper and ginger.

Taste: Dense and full-bodied gin with aromas of sweet berries, mild warm spices and light acidity in the background. The tannins are soft and delicate.

Finish: The finish is persistent with notes of dried fruit giving way to a soft and fleeting oak taste.

This is the ultimate project of passion and local sustainability.

Daniel Nguyen founded this company after working for an initiative of Vietnam's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

After working with the local farming community in the jungles of northwestern Vietnam, he wanted to improve the cultivation of local crops and empower the local farming community.

Sông Cái (meaning "Mother River") is a gin made from all harvested plants (except juniper, which is imported).

These local plants such as jungle pepper, black cardamom, green turmeric, heirloom pomelo, local cinnamon leaves and bark, local woods, white licorice root and dried mangosteen add a spicy character to the gin, with juniper playing a supporting role.
